About
Robin Vandersteen
Belgian artist from Hasselt, working under the name Woeste Wortel.
His practice moves between painting, drawing, and mixed media, combining bold colour, cartoon-inspired imagery, and expressive mark-making. Creativity has been a constant throughout his life, from drawing and photography to the doodles that eventually grew into a wider artistic practice.
His work is shaped by curiosity, experimentation, and a strong connection to imagination, emotion, and personal growth. Through Woeste Wortel, Robin continues to build a colourful visual world where playfulness, vulnerability, and imperfection are allowed to exist side by side.
