In this drawing, that same gesture became something more symbolic.
It represents a quiet form of defiance. A refusal to completely conform to the expectations, pressure and chaos of the world around me. A reminder to stay connected to the part of myself that existed before I started thinking too much about how I was supposed to behave or who I was supposed to become.
Above my head, I hold a drooping flower.
Its wilted shape reflects how I sometimes experience the state of the world around us. Nature is still there, still alive, but carrying the weight of everything happening around it.
For me, the flower became something fragile but important.
Even when it bends, it remains present.
This work is about trying to do the same.
To stay loyal to my own identity despite all the noise. To hold onto playfulness, individuality and that slightly rebellious part of myself, while remaining connected to nature something that continues to guide and ground me, even when both the world and my own mind feel uncertain.
Maybe some of it is happening around me.
Maybe some of it is just in my mind.
